Our Surrender Process

    We review your request and assess whether we have capacity to help your pet.

    Conduct Interview

    A conversation about your pet's history, health, behavior, and your reasons for surrendering.

    Record Collection

    Please gather your pet's vet records, vaccination history, and any relevant documents.

    Evaluation & Decision

    Our team evaluates your pet's needs and our current capacity to make a final decision.

    Foster Placement

    We identify a foster home or kennel placement that is the right fit for your pet.

  6. 6
    Surrender Agreement

    Review and sign our surrender agreement, which transfers legal care to the rescue.

    Awaiting Signature

    Waiting for your signed surrender agreement before we proceed.

    Intake & Drop-Off

    We'll coordinate a drop-off date and intake logistics to welcome your pet into our care.

    Surrender Fee

    A surrender fee helps offset the cost of veterinary care and housing for your pet.

Please rate your pet's current state on a scale of 1 to 5. We use this to understand your pet's true needs so we can find an experienced foster or rescue partner who is equipped to thrive with them.

1 = Perfectly healthy, no issues.
2 = Minor, treatable issues (e.g., ear infection, dental).
3 = Chronic but managed conditions (e.g., allergies).
4 = Significant manageable conditions (e.g., diabetes, mobility).
5 = Severe medical needs (e.g., daily meds, fluids, hospice).
1 = Easy to walk and handle.
2 = Pulls slightly on leash, manageable energy.
3 = Strong puller, high energy, needs training.
4 = Very strong / pulls hard, difficult to manage.
5 = Very difficult to handle (e.g., extremely strong puller, feral).
