Cornsnake
About DewDrop
Hi there — my name is Dew Drop, and 2026 is my year to find my forever family. 🐍💛 I’m a young corn snake, full of potential, curiosity, and charm — but I’m still learning the world and need a patient human to help me grow confident. I arrived in rescue in September 2025 as a tiny, fearful baby. Like all young snakes, I’m naturally cautious and a little unsure about humans. My first home couldn’t interact with me safely, and they felt it was best to let me grow in a situation where I could receive proper guidance. Now, I’m ready to work with someone who isn’t afraid to learn how to help me feel secure, and who can patiently guide me through this important stage of my development. I’m naturally shy, but with gentle handling, calm consistency, and clear communication, I can learn to trust and become a confident, charming companion. I love cozy hides and exploring my space at my own pace, and I respond best to humans who follow guidance from my rescue team and respect my boundaries. ✨ Corn Snake – Species & Personality Facts ✨ • Typically grow 3–5 feet as adults • Lifespan: 15–20 years in captivity with proper care • Young snakes are naturally shy and cautious, but with time and guidance, I can become confident • Primarily nocturnal — most active in the evenings and nights • Enjoy hides and burrowing to feel safe, secure, and cozy • Naturally curious — I love exploring in a safe environment 🏠 Husbandry & Enclosure Requirements 🏠 • Minimum enclosure: 4 feet long × 2 feet wide × 2 feet tall (bigger is always better for young, active snakes) - The rescue will help guide you • Enclosures should prioritize ground space over height • Front-opening enclosures are ideal to reduce stress • Temperature gradient: warm side 85–90°F, cool side 75–80°F • Moderate humidity, with a water bowl large enough to soak • Multiple hides to feel safe and secure • Simple, functional décor works best — cozy and calm 🐍 I’m looking for a human who: • Can provide safe, thermostat-controlled heat 🔥 • Is patient, gentle, and willing to learn how to guide me through this early, shy stage • Will work with the rescue team to understand my body language and needs • Can give me time to settle in — 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to build trust, and 3 months to truly feel at home ⏳ I’m shy now, but I’m ready to grow into a confident, affectionate corn snake with the right human. Could 2026 be the year we start our journey together? 🏡✨ ✨ PLEASE NOTE: 1-🎁 We can only accept applications from interested parties who are in or near San Diego County, California at this time. 2-❄️ We do not ship reptiles 🚫✈️ but we may be willing to work with you if you are willing to travel 🚗 🌟 #2 will depend on the animal that you are applying for and is at the discretion of the board of directors. 💛🎁 If you’d like to make me part of your family, please click the Adoption Application button below — I can’t wait to meet you! ✨🏡
